Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Slams “Bagong Pilipinas” Slogan of Marcos Administration
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the “Bagong Pilipinas” slogan of the administration of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
The candidates are currently taking a double time campaigning to win more votes. Both local and national polls will be held this May 12 Elections. The Marcos administration has its own senatorial slate in the upcoming polls.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos endorses the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago which he called his “dream team”. The President claimed that the senatorial bets he support are “all work” and all have experiences in public service. The grand alliance is composed of several big political parties in the country.
However, following the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Imee Marcos who was endorsed by the Alyansa left the grand alliance. It left the alliance with 11 senatorial bets which are as follows:

- Sen. Francis Tolentino
- Sen. Pia Cayetano
- former Sen. Manny Pacquiao
- Makati City Mayor Abby Binay
- Sen. Lito Lapid

Sen. Imee Marcos expressed disapproval on the arrest of the former President. She also led the Senate Foreign Relations committee in the investigation of Duterte’s arrest. Sen. Imee Marcos is endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte through the “ITIM” campaign ad that went viral.
It is no secret to the public that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos are long-time friends. Aside from the Senator, the Vice President who just returned from her three-week stay in The Hague to set the legal team of her father also endorses Manny Villar’s daughter, Camille, and the PDP-Laban bets. Recently, amid the peak of the election campaign period, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte slammed the “Bagong Pilipinas” slogan of the Marcos administration. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President launched her criticism during a campaign sortie in Manila’s 6th District in Santa Ana.
“Ang kailangan nating gawin, ituloy ang nasimulan ni Pangulong Duterte at ituloy ang tunay na pagbabago. Hindi ‘yung sinasabi ngayon na may Bagong Pilipinas pero may nagbago ba sa bayan natin?” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte further claimed that there is allegedly a continuous cycle of struggles and promises and the Filipino people are getting hungrier. According to her, many Filipinos are suffering now.
“Paulit-ulit lang. Maraming rason, paulit-ulit lang ang kahirapan, paulit-ulit lang din ang pangako. Wala namang nagbago. Lalo pang nagugutom ang mga tao, lalo pang dumadami ang naghihirap,” she expressed.
Previously, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the public not to vote for the candidates of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She also apologized to the people in endorsing Marcos Jr. in 2022.
