VP Sara Duterte Issues Message for Filipinos for the Holy Week 2025
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President issued a heartfelt message for the Filipino people this Holy Week 2025 observance.
It is now Holy Week once again. The Philippines is one of the countries that observe this religious event hugely. Many Filipinos practice the Holy Week traditions in the Philippines every year. The Holy Week begins on the Palm Sunday.
For this year, the Palm Sunday was held yesterday, April 13. Countless Roman Catholics went to church with palms in commemoration of Jesus Christ’s entrance to Jerusalem. The Holy Week is until this Sunday, April 20 (Easter Sunday). Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte gave her message to the Filipinos amid this religious celebration.
In her message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that the Holy Week is an important time to look at the sufferings and death of Jesus Christ on the cross to save mankind from our sins. According to her, while the country is faced with a huge challenge and the division among the Filipinos is getting deeper, the Holy Week is an invitation for the time for healing, conversion, and recalling what is important among the Filipinos — concern, faith, and unity.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres Duterte expressed her hope that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ will serve as light to Filipinos and we will strengthen our faith in times when we are getting weak, losing hope, or full of burdens, madness, and the pursuits that are against our brothers and sisters.
“Tularan sana natin ang pagmamahal ni Hesus sa atin — ituro ito, palaganapin ito, at gamitin ito sa ating pagsusulong at pagpapalakas ng mga komunidad na nanampalataya, nagsisilbi sa kapwa at sa bayan,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, in her Holy Week 2025 message, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the Filipinos to have faith and be united as we will overcome the challenges.
“Manalig tayo. Magkaisa tayo. Malalampasan natin ang dilim,” she said.
Aside from Vice Pres. Duterte, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has also released his message for the Filipino people this Holy Week 2025.
