Flight Delay and Offloaded Bag Cost Makeup Artist Jelly Eugenio a Major Job
JELLY EUGENIO – The makeup artist expressed deep frustration after losing a high-paying job due to a mishandled baggage incident on a Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight.
In a TikTok video posted on Friday, April 11, Jelly revealed that his luggage, which contained essential makeup tools, was offloaded from his flight without warning—causing him to lose a job reportedly worth six figures.
Jelly explained that this wasn’t the first time it had happened. A similar issue occurred during a previous flight to Palawan, and now it happened again on his way to Siargao. Anticipating the possibility of another offload, he said he had repeatedly asked the check-in counter staff if his baggage would be safe. He even offered to remove the most important items and carry them by hand. However, the staff assured him that the bag would not be offloaded and tagged it as “priority.”

To his dismay, not only was the flight delayed by two hours without prior notice, but upon arrival, he also discovered that his priority-tagged makeup bag had been left behind. The bag contained essential items for his work—including brushes, lights, and other professional tools. Jelly expressed that while he understood weight considerations during flights, he wished that a different, less critical piece of luggage had been offloaded instead.
“This is every makeup artist’s nightmare,” he shared, adding that the repeated incidents have left him tired and emotionally drained. Losing such a major job over something preventable was both financially and professionally upsetting.

Jelly ended his post by saying that the experience was not only disappointing but also traumatizing, especially knowing he now has to pay penalties for missing a job that could have earned him a significant amount of money.
