Kabataan Party-List Tags Imee Marcos-Sara Duterte Alliance as “Fake”

Spokesperson of Kabataan Party-List Speaks on Alliance of Sen. Imee Marcos, VP Sara Duterte

Kabataan Party-List national spokesperson and first nominee Renee Co tagged the alliance of Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Imee Marcos as “fake”.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorsing Sen. Imee Marcos is not a surprise to many people anymore amid the stand of the Senator on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The Senator led the Senate investigation on the controversial turn of events last March 11.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was arrested upon his arrival from Hong Kong. On the same day, the former President was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai. Sen. Imee Marcos is one of those who was shocked by the arrest of the former President.

The Senate Foreign Relations committee has conducted three (3) inquiries already over the arrest of Duterte. According to Sen. Marcos, it seems that there is no due process on the arrest of the former President. She also left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago led by Pres. Marcos claiming that the government officials’ recent actions do not match her ideals and principles in life.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously expressed her gratitude to Sen. Imee Marcos for opening a Senate investigation on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to her, she is willing to attend the probe of the former President.

Recently, on social media, Sen. Imee Marcos posted a campaign ad where Vice Pres. Sara Duterte could be seen endorsing the Senator. Based on a report on PhilStar, the national spokesperson of the Kabataan Party-List, Renee Co, spoke on the alliance of Duterte and Marcos.

“This is fake. Imee needs Mindanao votes to save her Senate seat. Sara needs Senate votes to save her VP seat from conviction and for better chances to become president in 2028,” Co said.

Based on the report, the Kabataan Party-List National Spokesperson claimed that the Duterte-Marcos alliance is allegedly about “revenge and ambition”. Co claimed that it is “not service for the nation”.

“The future in ‘UnITIM 2.0’ of Imee and Sara is dark. What we need is not ‘unity’ or ‘alliance’ of the ruling dynasties, but unity of ordinary Filipinos for true change,” she expressed.

The Kabataan Party-List Spokesperson told the voters not to vote for the candidates who represent darkness as well as “trapos” (traditional politicians). Malacañang also reacted to the Imee Marcos-Sara Duterte campaign ad.
