Post of Ka Leody de Guzman on Sen. Robin Padilla Getting Emotional at Senate Hearing Goes Viral
Ka Leody de Guzman slammed Senator Robin Padilla for crying during the Senate investigation led by Sen. Imee Marcos on Duterte arrest.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee recently had their 3rd day of inquiry on the arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The panel is led by Sen. Imee Marcos who is vocal about her disappointment on the actions of the government. According to her, there seems to be no due process in the arrest of the former President.
At the recent Senate inquiry on the unexpected arrest of FPRRD, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) chief Nicolas Torre admitted to denying former Pres. Duterte’s request to see VP Sara. According to him, it was already late and the former President was detained under their custody for 12 hours already.
Several senators were present at the Senate hearing over Duterte’s arrest. Aside from Sen. Bato dela Rosa who is a staunch ally of the Dutertes, Sen. Robin Padilla who also belongs to the same political party with the former President was also present at the probe. Duterte is the chairman of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino, formerly the PDP-Laban, and Padilla is the president.
Sen. Robin Padilla was one of the allies of Duterte who immediately flew to The Hague, Netherlands after the former President was arrested and his custody was transferred to the International Criminal Court (ICC). He was spotted with Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who also immediately flew to The Hague for her father.
According to Sen. Robin Padilla, he needs to talk to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte amid the election season. However, it was not clear if the ICC allowed the Senator to visit the former President.
Sen. Robin Padilla went emotional during the recent Senate inquiry over Duterte’s arrest. It caught the attention of many people including labor rights activist Ka Leody de Guzman who slammed the Senator for crying at the hearing.
Ka Leody de Guzman was a 2022 presidential election candidate. In his Facebook post that went viral, he stressed that the Filipino populace are allegedly spending on the Senate hearing conducted by Sen. Imee Marcos just to watch Sen. Robin Padilla cry. According to him, if that is the case, Padilla should return to show business.
Ka Leody also stated that Sen. Robin Padilla was in The Hague for several weeks. In his post, he encourages the Filipino voters to get away from putting showbiz personalities, boxers, and elite individuals in the position. According to him, it is time to support the candidates who push for the rights of the workers and the people.
At the Senate hearing, Department of Justice or DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla admitted giving clearances for the arrest of former Pres. Duterte and his transfer to The Hague.
