ISKO MORENO – At a lively campaign rally in Manila, Isko Moreno officially endorsed Senator Francis Tolentino and former Senator Manny Pacquiao.

Manila mayoral candidate Isko Moreno showed a spirit of inclusivity during a campaign rally over the weekend, openly endorsing administration-backed Senate bets despite political divisions. At a gathering held in Baseco Compound, Port Area on Saturday, Moreno expressed his support for reelectionist Senator Francis Tolentino and former Senator Manny Pacquiao, both running under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas coalition.

Vice President Sara Duterte also attended the event to rally support for the so-called “Duter10” candidates. Despite her ongoing rift with President Marcos, Duterte appeared alongside Moreno’s team, highlighting a rare moment of cross-factional cooperation.

“Everyone is welcome in Manila – our doors and our stage are open to anyone who wishes to join our campaign,” Moreno posted on Facebook following the event. “Whatever your political colors are, whether you belong to the administration, opposition, or are independent, you are welcome here,” he added.

According to the report, during the rally, Moreno held up the hands of administration-aligned Alyansa candidates, signaling his endorsement. However, Pacquiao and Tolentino had already left the venue by the time Duterte arrived.

Moreno’s move reflects his strategy of reaching across political divides as he campaigns for a return to Manila’s leadership. It also underscores the fluid alliances shaping the midterm elections, where personalities often cross traditional party lines.

The Vice President’s presence at the event, despite her strained relations with Marcos, was also seen as an effort to shore up support for her preferred Senate slate. Duterte’s support remains a significant factor in national politics, especially among her father’s loyal base.

As the May midterm elections draw nearer, the rally at Baseco Compound offered a glimpse into the complex and shifting alliances that are likely to define the coming contests — with Moreno positioning himself as a candidate willing to welcome allies from all sides.
