Paolo Duterte, Honeylet Avanceña’s Relationship Sparks Reactions from Netizens

It is now Cong. Paolo Duterte’s turn to visit their father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, at The Hague, Netherlands. The former President is currently under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) where he is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte returned to the Philippines after more than three (3) weeks of stay at The Hague early this April. She was the only one among their family to have a Schengen Visa, thus, she was the first to arrive at The Hague to visit their father. She set the ICC legal team of the former President before returning to the country.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte celebrated his 80th birthday last March 28 inside the ICC detention facility. A few days before his birthday, his long-time partner Honeylet Avanceña and their daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived at The Hague to visit him.
Kitty had to return to the country for her studies. Honeylet is also set to go back to the Philippines where she runs businesses. Before the common-law wife of former Pres. Duterte leaves The Hague, Cong. Paolo Duterte arrived. He will stay at The Hague until a day before the election in the Philippines. He is seeking for reelection.
Recently, a video clip showing the meeting of Honeylet Avanceña and Cong. Paolo Duterte at The Hague, Netherlands caught the attention of many netizens. Several people on Facebook noticed the close relationship between Duterte’s longtime partner and her step son.
A video clip of Honeylet Duterte approaching Cong. Paolo Duterte and leaning towards each other’s face for a “beso” went viral on social media. Duterte’s long-time partner could also be seen walking towards the ICC detention facility with her hand clinging on the arms of Pulong.

Cong. Paolo Duterte who admitted that the ICC detention of his father hurts him refers to the facility as a “retirement home”. According to him, he had a hug with his father inside the ICC detention facility when they saw each other again and he realized that it feels great to be hugged by a dad.
