Former Presidential Spox Harry Roque Happily Dances in The Hague
HARRY ROQUE – The former presidential spokesman danced to the alleged trending dance steps “Bangag, Ngiwi, Butod” in The Hague.
The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte did not only cause political turmoil in the Philippine government but also drove Roque to appear in public. After several months of hiding, he appeared in public in The Hague outside the detention facility of the International Criminal Court.

Former presidential spokesman Harry Roque claimed that he will be one of the lawyers of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. However, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte clarified that Roque will not be part of Duterte’s ICC legal team. According to her, they want the lawyers of her father to really be focusing on his case.

Malacañang also called on Harry Roque to defend himself first before others. The Palace also called on Filipinos to challenge the former presidential spokesman to go home to the Philippines and face the accusations against him.
Former presidential spokesman Roque applied for asylum in the Netherlands. He hoped to be permitted to visit former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte saying that the former Chief Executive got the final call on who will be part of his ICC legal team. His statement came after expressing an understanding on the “call” of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over the lawyers who will defend her father.

The ICC legal team of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was finalized before Vice Pres. Sara Duterte returned to the Philippines. The team is led by British-Israeli lawyer Nicholas Kaufman. French lawyer Dov Jacobs is also part of Duterte’s ICC legal team.

Now that he is a bonafide asylum seeker in the Netherlands, Harry Roque usually joins the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who gather in The Hague in support for former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Recently, a video of the former presidential spokesman dancing to the alleged trending dance steps in The Hague that mentions “Bangag, Ngiwi, Butod” hooked the netizens’ attention.
Previously, former presidential spokesman Harry Roque said that he no longer needs to hide as an asylum seeker in the Netherlands. According to him, he cannot be deported in the Philippines while the asylum application process is ongoing and it may take around a year and a half.
