Ferrari Burns After Test Drive
FROM DREAM TO DISASTER – A Japanese music producer named Honkon recently shared a heartbreaking story that quickly caught the attention of many online. After saving for ten years, he was finally able to purchase his dream car—a Ferrari 458 Spider worth 43 million yen, or around PHP17.3 million.
Honkon, 33, is known in the Japanese music industry and is the producer behind the idol group Chocorabi. On April 16, 2025, he decided to test drive his newly delivered Ferrari on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. It was supposed to be a joyful moment, celebrating years of hard work and financial discipline. However, the dream turned into a nightmare within minutes.
While driving, Honkon noticed white smoke coming from what he initially thought was a nearby vehicle. But as the other car sped away, it became clear that the smoke was coming from his own Ferrari. He immediately pulled over, exited the vehicle, and called emergency services. Over the next 20 minutes, Honkon could do nothing but watch as the car he had worked so hard for was engulfed in flames.

On social media, he shared a photo of the burned car with a caption that read, “I spent 43 million yen and all I got was this photo.” He also said he might be the unluckiest person in Japan to have such an unfortunate experience. An investigation by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police confirmed that there was no collision involved in the incident. Although the exact cause is still unknown, authorities believe the fire originated from the car’s engine.

Despite the emotional toll, Honkon expressed gratitude for escaping the incident unharmed. He admitted that he initially feared the car would explode. Fortunately, he was able to exit safely, and no one was injured.
