Amid the Issues, Marjorie Barretto Hopes Dennis Padilla To “Take Accountability”
DENNIS PADILLA – Former actress Marjorie Barretto claimed that the actor-comedian rejected their children when they asked for financial help.
Another daughter of Marjorie Barretto has recently tied the knot. Claudia Barretto recently got married to Basti Lorenzo, her boyfriend of 10 years. Their wedding was held at the St. James The Great church in Muntinlupa. However, following the private and intimate wedding ceremony, the event was surrounded by issues.
The issues were triggered after Dennis Padilla, the father of Claudia, claimed that he was treated as a “visitor” at the wedding of their daughter. It was followed by an interview of the actor-comedian with Ogie Diaz wherein Dennis claimed that he sees no point of reconciliation with his children.
According to Dennis, he is tired in reaching out to his children and he has apologized to them publicly and privately. He stressed that he is not the toxic one in the situation. The claims of the actor-comedian earned his children bashing although there are also netizens who support the Barretto siblings.
Recently, Marjorie Barretto, the mother of Julia, Claudia, and Leon, broke her silence on the claim of her ex-husband. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, she stressed that she deserves to seat in front during the wedding as she single-handedly raised their daughters. She stressed that it was not easy to stand as both father and mother to their children.
Marjorie Barretto expressed her belief that it is allegedly really time for Dennis Padilla “to take accountability”. During the interview, she stressed that Julia is already 28 years old while Claudia is 25 and is now married. Their youngest, Leon, is graduating in college.
“Hindi mo na na-enjoy. Itong sa ginawa mo ngayon, sa tingin pag magka-anak si Claudia 2-3 years from now, sa tingin mo makikilala mo ‘yung apo mo? Hindi ba mas importante na lang na may relasyon ka. You’re the father, you should be the number one protector of your children. Number one safe space of your children. Ang hirap, Dennis, magpalaki nang mag-isa ako.”
According to Marjorie Barretto, she’s ready to fulfill even the financial responsibilities of Dennis Padilla to their children but he could have helped financially at least for Leon. She claimed that the actor-comedian allegedly rejects when their children are asking financial help from him.
“Pag humihingi mga anak ko, he rejects… I would have wished okay lang kasi si Julia worked early on and si Julia naman whenever she can help me, she will… Pero sana, kung ayaw mong suportahan si Julia at si Claudia, sana si Leon tinira mo. Sana si Leon kahit papanu mag-abot ka.“
During the interview, Marjorie stressed that Dennis should set as a good example to Leon who should be a good provider and father someday. The former actress cited an example that if he would give Php 1,000 from his Php 10,000, it may be small but it will make his children feel loved and cared for.
Furthermore, she stressed that her children are all kind. Addressing the bashers, Dennis, and some of his family members who criticized their children, the former actress stressed that the only one who can say if her children are not good kids is she who is their mother.
According to Marjorie Barretto, Dennis Padilla does not want a relationship with their children but attention. She claimed that he started accepting interviews when Julia Barretto started her acting career.
