Bianca Gonzalez Clarifies PBB Punishment and Stresses Housemate Safety
BIANCA GONZALEZ – The Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) host defended “Kuya” after viewers criticized a punishment given to housemate Shuvee. The punishment involved Shuvee staying under the sun, which many netizens found concerning, with some calling it “inhumane.” Bianca responded on Twitter, clearing up the issue and standing by the show.
As a long-time host of PBB, Bianca assured everyone that the safety and well-being of the housemates are always a top priority for the production team. She acknowledged the fans’ concerns but pointed out that accusing Big Brother of not caring for the housemates’ safety was unfair. Bianca explained that even minor health issues like a cough are immediately checked by a doctor or nurse.
Bianca also addressed the way some netizens expressed their frustrations, urging them to be more respectful. She questioned if people had actually heard Kuya give the punishment order and pointed out that there was no need for harsh language or insults.

While PBB has not released an official statement, Bianca’s defense highlights the importance of housemate safety and encourages respectful online discussions.
To recall, Shuvee Etrata, a Kapuso actress and social media personality, became the focus of online discussions after clips from Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition showed her allegedly being punished for mentioning details about the outside world. She entered the PBB house with former child star Xyriel Manabat.

The punishment, which involved Shuvee staying under the harsh sun, quickly raised concerns. Many netizens pointed out the risk of heatstroke, especially with the high temperatures in Metro Manila, and noted that Shuvee had just recovered from dysmenorrhea.
The situation sparked strong reactions, with some viewers criticizing the show for exposing a contestant to unsafe conditions. They questioned why the punishment involved extreme heat and suggested safer alternatives. Some even called for a mass report to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), calling the treatment “inhumane.”
