According to WebMD, myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disorder that weakens voluntary muscles by disrupting the connection between nerves and muscles. It commonly affects the eyes, face, throat, and, in some cases, other parts of the body. While there is no cure, treatments are available to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
