Senator Bong Revilla Survives Helicopter Incident in Cebu

Senator Bong Revilla Believes He Was Saved for a Reason

BONG REVILLA – The senator had a close call when the helicopter he was riding in almost crashed in Cebu on Friday, March 28. To express his gratitude for surviving the incident, he and his family held a thanksgiving Mass at their home in Bacoor, Cavite, on Sunday morning, March 30.

Revilla shared that while he had experienced aircraft issues before, this situation was different. A kite got tangled in the helicopter’s tail rotor, creating a dangerous situation. Fortunately, the pilot quickly noticed the problem and managed to execute a safe emergency landing. Everyone on board, including the senator and the pilot, was unharmed.

The senator believes his survival was a miracle and credits it to the Santo Niño. He pointed out that their emergency landing site happened to be near a chapel dedicated to the Santo Niño. “Siya ‘yong unang-unang nakita ko doon habang bumababa ‘yong chopper,” he said.

Reflecting on the event, Revilla expressed his belief that he still has an important purpose to fulfill. “Pakiramdam ko, meron pa tayong gagawin, may misyon pa siguro tayo. Kaya nagpapasalamat tayo sa Panginoon na binigyan pa tayo ng… hindi pa ako kinuha. It’s not yet my time,” he said.

He also recalled how they were fortunate to find a location with a helipad where they could land safely. He was surprised to discover a chapel there, as the area appeared to be covered with mangroves when viewed from above. The people at the site, later identified as a private rest house, quickly assisted them.

Revilla remains grateful for his survival and sees the incident as a sign that he still has more to accomplish. He believes his journey is far from over and that he has a greater purpose to fulfill.
