VP Sara Duterte Gives Advice To Voters in Hong Kong
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President warned the Pinoys in Hong Kong of candidates who rely on popularity and entertainment.
In all several sorties she attended since the campaign period for the 2025 Midterm Elections began, Vice Pres. Duterte has been giving reminders to the voters in choosing the candidates who they will give their votes to. There were also instances when she expressed regret over people she ran with and endorsed during the previous elections.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she was “scammed” during the 2022 Elections for believing that she is running with someone who wants a better country. According to her, they ran under the platform of “unity and continuity” but she was allegedly fooled. The two (2) were the banner of the BBM-Sara campaign in 2022.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte joined the thanksgiving event of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or KOJC members in Hong Kong. It was supposedly a leg of the campaign rallies of the PDP-Laban bets but the Hong Kong authorities did not allow them to campaign in a public assembly.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was also present at the thanksgiving event of the KOJC members in Hong Kong. Their found and leader, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, is one of the senatorial bets of PDP-Laban. Currently, the Pastor is detained for the charges against him.
At the thanksgiving event, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte reminded the voters to really be discerning in casting their votes. According to her, the votes should not depend on the surname of the candidates.
“Kailangan pag-isipan natin: Duterte ito, pero ano ang maitutulong niya sa bayan? Ano ang magagawa niya para sa bayan?” she said.
The Vice President also warned the OFWs about vote-buying. According to her, it is now allegedly legal now in the form of government cash assistance or ayuda. She advised the voters to really check on the platforms of the candidates as well as the status of the previous promises they have made.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also warned the voters of candidates who rely on entertainment and popularity. Based on the report, she recognized an alleged problem among the Filipinos choosing candidates who can bring entertainment.
“Ang problema sa atin ang pinipili natin ay paulit ulit, pabalik balik lang. Mahilig tayo sa sikat, mahilig tayo sa magaling kumanta [at] sumayaw dito sa stage, mahilig tayo sa nagpapa-amuse, nagpapatawa sa atin,” she said.
Vice Pres. Duterte said Filipino voters are not checking on the character of the popular and entertaining candidates behind the television. She urged Pinoys to be more decisive about their votes. In the same event, Vice Pres. Duterte revealed that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy told her she must be the next president.
