Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Refuses To Endorse Candidates in Upcoming Elections
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that she was “scammed” during the 2022 Elections for believing in the platform of unity and continuity.
It is no secret to the public that the relationship of Vice Pres. Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos have turned sour. It is something that the BBM-Sara supporters did not see coming as they appeared to be very close and supportive of each other during the 2022 Elections.

The rift between Duterte and Marcos was noticed by the people after the Vice President resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd). She has been throwing tirades against the Chief Executive since then. Duterte telling Cebuanos of their right to “show anger to the government” did not sit well with Malacañang.

Now that the 2025 Midterm Elections is fast approaching, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has joined several campaign sorties of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago while Vice Pres. Sara Duterte appeared at an event attended by the PDP-Laban bets in Hong Kong. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte was also in Hong Kong.

Based on a report on GMA News, at the event in Hong Kong, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte made a claim that she was allegedly scammed during the 2022 Elections. Without naming names, the Vice President recalled that they ran under the platform of unity and continuity — the BBM-Sara platform.
“Akala ko kasi mas gusto niya ng mas magandang bayan kasi ang plataporma namin nung tumakbo kami unity at continuity. Nadala na ako, na scam na ako, nabudol na ako,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has once again advised the voters to check on the platforms and accomplishments of the candidates as well as their response to their past promises. According to her, she will not endorse a candidate anymore as she avoids being blamed again.
“Hindi ako mag endorso ng kandidato kasi baka pagkatapos ng election, sasabihin ninyo nanaman, na scam kami ni Inday Sara,” Vice Pres. Duterte said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also warned the voters about vote buying. According to her, it is now legal in the form of government financial aid or ayuda. She also advised the voters not to vote based on the surname of a certain candidate.
Currently, Duterte is faced with an impeachment battle after the House of Representatives approved her impeachment. Her trial is proposed to begin this July 30 but it still needs the approval of the lawmakers in the Senate.
