Rosmar Tan on Duterte’s Arrest: ‘Lolo na sya’
ROSMAR TAN – The businesswoman and social media personality has sparked discussions after expressing her support for former President Rodrigo Duterte, who was recently arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Several posts by Rosmar have been circulating online, showing her sentiments regarding Duterte’s arrest. Upon arriving at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 from Hong Kong on March 11, the former president was taken into custody. He was then transferred to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City before being flown to The Hague, Netherlands, on a private plane.
In a Facebook post, Rosmar expressed sympathy for Duterte, stating, “Di ko alam bakit awang awa ako sa ginagawa nila ngayon kay tatay Digong. Kahit ako si kitty same reaction din masasabi at gagawin ko kung tatay ko na pinag uusapan tapos gusto pa dalhin kung saan.”
In another post, she acknowledged Duterte’s strength but also pointed out his age, saying, “Malakas lang sya tingnan kasi matapang sya pero lolo na sya. Di nya deserve ung treatment na ginagawa sakanya ngayon. Aminin nyo nung panahon nya pakiramdam natin ang safe gumala sa Pinas. Tapos ganyan lang nararanasan nya ngayon.”
Rosmar also shared a general statement in support of Duterte, writing, “I STAND WITH FPRRD! My support is clear, and I won’t apologize for it. If you don’t like it or it bothers you, feel free to unfriend me now. No hard feelings!”
Many of Duterte’s supporters agreed with Rosmar’s sentiments, praising his leadership and recalling a time when they felt safer under his administration. However, not everyone shared her views. Critics mocked her intelligence, questioned her educational background, and pointed out alleged injustices during Duterte’s presidency. Others claimed they felt less safe during his term, fearing they could be targeted without due process. As of now, Rosmar has yet to respond to the backlash she has received.
