The image, taken during a boxing training session, showed Philmar’s right arm with a new tattoo design covering the original “224.” He later reposted the photo on his Instagram Story, adding three praying hands emojis.
Reports suggest that Philmar had the tattoo covered as early as February 2025, but confirmation only came when the new image surfaced. The “224” tattoo became a source of controversy because it matched the tattoo of his close friend, Swedish marine photographer Pernilla Sjoö. This similarity led to a conflict between Philmar and his longtime partner, actress Andi Eigenmann.
The issue gained widespread attention on February 7, 2025, when netizens noticed that Andi and Philmar had unfollowed each other on social media. Throughout the night, they shared cryptic Instagram Stories, hinting at personal conflicts. Later, Andi publicly addressed the situation, revealing that Philmar had gotten a “love couple’s tattoo” with another woman without informing her.

The AI responded that the act could “raise some red flags” and was something “very personal” that should have been discussed in a relationship.
As speculation grew, Pernilla confirmed their matching tattoos by sharing a photo of them together, explaining that “224” symbolized “today, tomorrow, forever.” The revelation fueled further online discussions, but Philmar took private steps to repair his relationship with Andi. Eventually, they reconciled.
While Pernilla remained silent on the issue, her friend, actor Derek Ramsay, came to her defense. He stated that Pernilla was deeply hurt by the controversy and the backlash she received online.
