According to the Chief Executive, the government has the responsibility to act on its commitment with the Interpol.

Marcos Jr. also denounced that the government cooperated in the arrest because it is the ICC. According to him, it is the commitment with the Interpol that placed the government under the obligation to extend the necessary assistance. He also stressed that it is not political persecution as the issue was already present before he won the presidency. Malacañang defended Marcos Sr. saying he only upheld the law.
