Lola Amour Speaks Out Against Unauthorized Campaign Jingles
LOLA AMOUR – The OPM band has spoken out against the unauthorized use of their songs in campaign jingles. As the campaign period for local candidates begins, catchy jingles have become a common strategy to attract voters. However, the band expressed frustration over politicians using their music without permission.
On March 30, Lola Amour posted on Facebook: “Madami na naman daw gumagamit ng mga kanta namin para sa mga campaign jingles. Please note that all of those are used WITHOUT our consent.” They further emphasized their disapproval by adding, “What if I told you that it’s stolen?”
Although they did not name specific candidates, the band clarified that they do not endorse politicians whose platforms they do not support or are unfamiliar with. Their statement received mixed reactions from netizens, with some urging them to take legal action under Intellectual Property Rights laws, while others speculated about possible retaliation, such as being banned from performing at political events.

This incident follows a similar case involving rapper Omar Baliw, who filed a lawsuit against Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader and senatorial candidate Pastor Apollo Quiboloy for allegedly using his song without permission during a proclamation rally.

Meanwhile, Lola Amour is a Filipino indie band known for their unique blend of jazz, funk, and alternative rock. Formed in 2016, the band gained popularity with their hit song Raining in Manila, which became a viral sensation. Their music is characterized by catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and groovy instrumentals.
The band consists of Pio Dumayas (vocals/guitar), Raymond King (bass), Jeff Alagar (trumpet), Angelo Mesina (saxophone), Renzo Santos (drums), Zoe Gonzales (guitar), and David Yuhico (keyboard). They have built a strong fanbase in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene and have performed at various music festivals and concerts across the Philippines.
