Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Decision To Leave Alyansa
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator claimed that the “Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago” must be happy about her decision to officially leave the team.
Aside from the huge gap between the Dutertes and the Marcoses now, another topic that sparked doubts among countless Filipinos is the stand of Sen. Marcos. Unexpectedly, the Presidential Sister led the investigation on the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte amid her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, and the Malacañang having stressed its validity.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos undeniably earned countless criticisms following the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. Senator Bato dela Rosa accused Marcos Jr. of committing “betrayal to the max” on the arrest of Duterte. The Chief Executive stressed that the arrest followed all the necessary legal procures.

Malacañang also defended Marcos saying he did not betray anyone and the government only performed its commitment with the Interpol. Unexpectedly, following the arrest of the former President, Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the campaign sorties of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago which is led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the BBM-led Alyansa campaign rally in Tacloban as well as the sortie in Cavite. She led the Senate committee investigation on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. Sen. Marcos raised a question on why the government surrendered Duterte, a Filipino citizen, to the foreign entities.
Marcos did not hesitate to express her view that there seems to be no due process in the arrest of the former President. At the Cavite campaign rally of the Alyansa, Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not mention Sen. Imee Marcos and it caught the attention of many people. It is unclear if the Chief Executive accidentally missed to mention the name of his sister or not but he managed to endorse Camille Villar who was also not present at the campaign rally.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos officially withdrew from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago. According to her, she cannot stand to be in the same campaign platform with the rest of the alliance members citing the mismatch actions of the government officials with her ideals and principles.

Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that the Alyansa must be happy that she officially left the team. According to her, her withdrawal will bring clarity for everyone. She seemingly took swipe at Pres. Bongbong Marcos not mentioning her during the Cavite campaign rally.
“At least dapat silang matuwa wala ng malabo kasi mahirap naman ‘yung ganun hindi ka sisipot tapos hindi ka iniendorso, hindi ka binabanggit. Mas mabuti na ‘yung maliwanag,” the Senator said.
Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos will be gathering more witnesses to testify in the probe over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her gratitude to Sen. Marcos for the inquiry on her father’s arrest.
