Heart Aquino Willing to Serve as a COMELEC Ambassador

Heart Aquino Expresses Interest in Working with COMELEC

HEART AQUINO – A contestant in It’s Showtime’s Sexy Babe segment shared that she is willing to serve as a COMELEC ambassador if given the opportunity.

Heart recently visited the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office, where Chairman George Erwin Garcia and other officials gave her a tour. Following the visit, the media interviewed her about her experience.

“Mas naunawaan ko po ‘yong meaning din po talaga ng Comelec at kung ano pa po talaga ‘yong ginagawa nila,” Heart shared. She encouraged others to learn more about the commission’s role in the electoral process.

When asked if she would be open to becoming a COMELEC ambassador, she responded positively. “Actually po, kung titingnan ko po siya, it’s an opportunity din po, so yes po, willing naman po ako, and to inspire sa youth na rin po,” she said.

Heart also took the chance to explain why she struggled to answer a question about COMELEC during her previous Q&A segment on the show. “Gaya po ng sinabi ko, hindi lang po ako knowledgeable po, pero meron naman po akong kaalaman, na-mental block lang din po ako since first appearance ko sa TV, and medyo nakakakaba po talaga kapag po nasa telebisyon,” she admitted. She urged people not to judge her too quickly and to understand her situation.

Her viral moment happened during the Sexy Babe Q&A segment on February 28, when she was asked about her message for COMELEC, given the upcoming National and Local Elections. She admitted, “Sorry po, hindi po ako masyadong knowledgeable about sa Comelec.” When asked about her age, she answered that she was 20.

This response visibly disappointed It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda, who reacted by saying, “Oh my gosh, that’s bothersome.” Co-host Kim Chiu followed up by asking if Heart had already voted, to which she replied that she hadn’t.

Vice and the other hosts then asked whether she had ever heard of COMELEC through TV, newspapers, or social media. Heart admitted, “Wala po kaming TV. Hindi po rin masyadong lumilitaw sa Facebook.” Vice pressed further, asking who was responsible for her lack of awareness, to which she lightheartedly responded, “Ako po.”

Fellow host Jhong Hilario took the opportunity to educate her, explaining that COMELEC is responsible for managing elections and ensuring the proper selection of government officials. This prompted Heart to finally share her thoughts: “Siguro yung message ko po sa kanila: Let’s be fair po dahil po meron tayong mga, kahit barangay lang ‘yan, yung mga bayad. Bayad-bayad ng votes. So let’s be fair po siguro, dahil deserve natin yung uupo na talagang merong maibibigay sa atin, na meron talagang–lahat tayo sa community–na mapakikinabangan. At hindi ganern. Yun po, thank you po.”
