BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President spoke at the 128th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army.
The Philippine government is undeniably experiencing political turmoil right now. Several issues crossed the surface amid the gap between the Dutertes and the Marcoses and the recent unexpected turn of events that led to the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos is accused of “betrayal” over the arrest of former Pres. Duterte. There are calls on the government and the Supreme Court to bring home the former President who is under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Malacañang stressed that the government only did it job and acted on the arrest of former Pres. Duterte in lieu of its commitment with the Interpol. The Palace also defended the President from “betrayal” accusations. Since he confirmed the flight of Duterte to the Hague, Netherlands, Marcos Jr. is silent amid the political issues and is visibly focusing in the campaign of the alliance.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos graced the 128th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army with his presence. Based on a report on GMA News, at the event, the Chief Executive spoke on the means he know so the country can rise above the challenges that is facing now.
“To achieve this, the government must lead by example, we strive for a government that listens, that acts and serves with integrity. That is the only way to rise above adversities and move forward as a people,” the President said.
According to Pres. Marcos, when peace and order are in place, the nation can move forward and prosper. He lauded the Philippine Army saying that its service to the country is a pillar of strength for the nation. According to him, the real measure is not in the ranks or power but in setting aside personal interest for a greater goal.
“Sa anumang institusyon, hindi sapat ang ranggo o kapangyarihan. Ang tunay na sukatan ay ang kahandaang na isantabi ang sariling interes para [sa] mas mataas na layunin,” Marcos said.
Based on the report, at the Philippine Army celebration, Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed that although there is a difference in the roles to play, the goal for a more united and peaceful country must prevail. The President promised that his administration will keep on pushing through with its commitment in making sure that the PH Army is prepared in achieving its mandate and mission.
