Pres. Bongbong Marcos Leads Alyansa Campaign Sortie in Tacloban
BONGBONG MARCOS – The Philippine President aired his seemingly pertaining to a controversial issue that brought former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte before the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Pres. Marcos is leading the campaign sorties of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago, a grand alliance of several political parties in the Philippines. The grand alliance includes the President’s political party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the Lakas-CMD, the Nacionalista Party, the National Unity Party (NUP), and the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).

Recently, the Alyansa had its campaign rally in Tacloban. Pres. Bongbong Marcos was present at the event which was skipped by his sister, Senator Imee Marcos. She is one of the senatorial bets of the grand alliance despite her withdrawal from joining any political party or alliance.
Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the Alyansa campaign rally as she’s affected by what happened to former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. The former Chief Executive was arrested on Monday and is now in the Hague, Netherlands under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The ICC has issued a warrant of arrest against Duterte over the allegations of crimes against humanity through his war on drugs campaign. On the same day of his arrest, the former President was exited from the Philippines en route for the Netherlands.

The arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte earned Pres. Bongbong Marcos countless criticisms. Many Duterte supporters tagged his move of allowing the government to cooperate in the arrest as “betrayal”. Sen. Bato dela Rosa called Marcos’ action as “betrayal to the max”.
As for the President, the government only did its job and responded to the Interpol. He stressed that the arrest was done in a legal manner.
At the campaign sortie of the Alyansa in Tacloban, Pres. Bongbong Marcos made a remark that seemingly pointed on the war on drugs of the Duterte administration. Based on a report on GMA News, the Chief Executive stressed that it is not right to kill thousands to fight crimes and drugs.
During his detention at Villamor Air Base, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed his belief that his arrest can lead to the presidency of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Countless Filipinos rally behind former Pres. Duterte and call for his return to the country.
