Rapper Criticizes Quiboloy’s Use of His Song in Campaign Jingle
OMAR BALIW – The Filipino rapper has called out the use of his song’s beat in a campaign jingle played at the proclamation rally of senatorial aspirant Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in Pasig City.
In a Facebook post on February 13, Omar shared a video clip where the campaign jingle could be heard, using the beat from his song “K&B.” Expressing his frustration, he wrote: “[D]i pa nakaupo, nagnakaw na agad. [W]ala kameng kinalaman dito. [P]wede ba to ipa-barangay? hahaha. [A]wit.”
His post quickly gained attention, with netizens reacting with a mix of humor, sarcasm, and criticism. Some mocked the situation, others expressed disgust, and a few made playful wordplays on Quiboloy’s name.

In October 2024, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) reminded political candidates to respect intellectual property rights when using promotional materials, including music. As of now, Quiboloy’s camp has not issued any statement regarding the issue.

Meanwhile, Quiboloy, who is currently running for senator, recently made headlines after a campaign billboard promoting his candidacy was spotted in New York City, USA. According to SMNI News, the billboard was reportedly funded by the Filipino community in New York as a show of support for Quiboloy. A Facebook post by Hakbang ng Maisug America shared that on February 9, a group of Filipinos, along with the Patriotic Filipinos, gathered at Times Square to express their support for Quiboloy, fellow senatorial hopeful Atty. Vic Rodriguez, and other PDP-Laban candidates.

The group proudly declared their support, identifying themselves as “solid DDS” (Diehard Duterte Supporters) based in New York. They also reaffirmed their allegiance to former President Rodrigo Duterte (FPRRD) and Vice President Sara Duterte. Additionally, their post expressed appreciation for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and other Filipinos for their unwavering support and loyalty to both Duterte and Quiboloy, emphasizing the importance of unity within their political circle.
