MC Muah was Hospitalized Due to Kidney Stones

MC Muah Warns About Kidney Stones After Hospitalization

MC MUAH – The comedian and It’s Showtime host was recently taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention after experiencing severe pain. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he revealed that doctors diagnosed him with kidney stones, which had already moved to his bladder.

MC shared that he first learned about his condition during an executive check-up. “So, ini-schecule agad kasi ‘yung bato ko, bumaba na sa pantog kaya masakit na ako ‘pag umiihi,” he explained. Before being hospitalized, he had been suffering from persistent back pain and extreme discomfort while urinating.

To treat the condition, doctors performed shockwave lithotripsy, a procedure that breaks down kidney stones using sound waves. “’Yung kidney stones ko, ano, dinurog, shinockwave. So, ngayon, wala na siya, durog na siya. Ilalabas ko na lang siya,” MC shared. Fortunately, his kidney stones measured only 0.5mm, which meant surgery was not required. Had they been larger—1mm or more—the situation could have been much more serious.

The comedian also admitted that his diet likely contributed to the condition. “Iwas talaga sa maalat. Iwas sa maalat, iwas sa taba,” he said. His doctors also advised him to stay active, as walking can help the body flush out kidney stones more quickly.

MC Muah, along with fellow comedian Lassy, became a regular host on It’s Showtime, joining their close friend and main host, Vice Ganda. Fans are wishing him a speedy recovery as he continues his journey to better health.

Meanwhile, kidney stones are hard mineral deposits that form when substances like calcium and uric acid build up in the kidneys. They can be very painful, especially when moving through the urinary tract. If not treated, they can block urine flow, cause infections, and even damage the kidneys.

Smaller stones may pass naturally by drinking plenty of water, but larger ones often need medical treatment. Doctors may use shockwave therapy to break them down, a small tube (ureteroscopy) to remove them, or surgery in severe cases. To prevent kidney stones, it’s best to stay hydrated, eat less salty and sugary food, and maintain a healthy diet. Getting treatment early can help avoid complications and keep your kidneys healthy.
