Malacañang Says Marcos Jr Needs To Be “Transparent about his Insights Sometimes”

Statement of Malacañang on Pres. Bongbong Marcos over Criticisms

MALACAÑANG – A Palace official stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos needs to speak his insights sometimes and counter the attacks of critics.

The president of the country is one of the people who is most prone to critics. Every move of the Chief Executive can elicit both praises and bashing depending on how a person perceives it. The political arena can also be a testing ground of one’s resilience against criticisms as a politician may be attacked even before he/she secures the office.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos who was still a presidential aspirant then, of supposedly being a weak leader. He has also repeatedly raised his claim that Marcos Jr. is allegedly into drugs.

Amid the deteriorating relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, the Vice President has also accused Marcos Jr. of allegedly not knowing how to be a president. She claimed that she has never heard him talk about his plans for the country.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also rated the Marcos government with 1 out of 10. Since she resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) and left the Marcos cabinet, the Vice President has thrown tirades several times against the Chief Executive.

Recently, Malacañang spoke on the criticisms against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on PhilStar, Palace press officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said that the President needs to speak about his insights sometimes and counter some criticisms.

“The President has to be transparent about his insights sometimes and to relay to the people that he is not and will never be a weak leader,” the Malacañang Press Officer said.

Recently, Malacañang also reacted to Vice Pres. Duterte telling Cebuanos of their right “to show anger to the government”. The statement of the Vice President did not sit well with the Palace which cited his position in the government.
