Former Pres. Duterte Throws Tirades vs. Pres. Marcos Anew
DUTERTE – The former President claimed that President Bongbong Marcos Jr. might declare martial law as their bet could not win against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The relationship between the Dutertes and the Marcoses has turned sour. Since Vice Pres. Sara Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education) last year, there were several instances when the Dutertes threw tirades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos several times of alleged drug use. The Vice President was also vocal about her regret in teaming up with Marcos Jr. during the 2022 Elections. According to her, she believed on the allegedly mistaken belief of unity and continuity.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte was also issued a subpoena by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) over her remarks that seemingly raised a threat on the lives of the President, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez. According to her, she final wish if an alleged plot against her life succeeds is the death of the First Couple and the House Speaker.
Impeachment complaints have been filed against VP Inday before the House of Representatives. According to her, only two (2) people allegedly decide on the national budget and one of them is Romualdez. The lower chamber approved the impeachment of the Vice President.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has previously filed a petition before the Supreme Court challenging the constitutionality of the fourth impeachment complaint against her. Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is one of the lawyers who signed the said petition.
Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte went to Cebu for a grand rally. Based on a report on GMA News, at the event, the former President made a claim that Pres. Bongbong Marcos might allegedly declare a martial law to extend his stay in Malacañang.
“Si Inday, gusto nilang tanggalin. Pamumulitika ba. Dahil pagkatapos kay Marcos, kung mananalo sila kung hindi siya diktador, may ipapalit sa kanya,” the former President reportedly said.
Based on the report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also claimed that the Marcos camp will not be able to find someone who can win against VP Sara, thus, they are allegedly tainting her reputation now.
“Wala silang ipapalit kung makakalaban si Inday kasi walang talagang talo si Inday. Ngayon pa lang gusto nilang pilayan para okay sa kanila,” he said.
Previously, prior to the impeachment moves against his daughter, the former President called on VP Inday Sara to leave politics as fast as she can.
