Dog Sustains Injuries After Being Shot with an Indian Arrow
INDIAN ARROW – A reward of ₱65,000 is now being offered for information leading to the identification of the suspect responsible for shooting a dog five times in Murcia, Negros Occidental.
The incident, which happened recently, was first brought to public attention by BACH Project PH Inc., a registered all-volunteer nonprofit organization based in Bacolod City. On February 24, 2025, they called for help in seeking justice for the dog, named “TikTok,” who suffered five wounds from an Indian arrow in different parts of its body.
Following the attack, TikTok underwent emergency treatment, including a blood transfusion. Fortunately, veterinarians successfully removed the arrows lodged in the dog’s face and legs.
To speed up the search for the suspect, BACH Project PH Inc. announced a monetary reward for any information that could help identify the perpetrator. Senator JV Ejercito also contributed ₱15,000 to the reward fund.
The Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) strongly condemned the act, describing it as an extreme form of cruelty. In a statement, the organization said, “It’s extremely bothering and infuriating to think what was done to this dog. The amount of cruelty in this case is extreme! No animal deserves to suffer like this! And a human who is capable of doing such a brutal act is heartless and is certainly not in a right mind!”
Meanwhile, Murcia Municipal Mayor Gerry Rojas also denounced the inhumane treatment of TikTok, calling it an act of “abject cruelty and cowardice” against an innocent animal. He emphasized that such barbaric behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the true values of Murcia’s people.
In support of the investigation, Mayor Rojas has pledged an additional ₱10,000 reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the suspect. He also expressed gratitude to the members of BACH Project PH for their swift response and dedication in rescuing and treating TikTok.
Authorities and concerned organizations continue to seek justice for the dog, urging the public to report any leads that may help identify and hold the perpetrator accountable.
