Recently, the PDP-Laban had a proclamation rally that was also attended by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who is currently faced with an impeachment issue by the House of Representatives and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte.

However, a statement of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte at the proclamation rally caught the attention of several people. The former Chief Executive expressed a “kill” statement for 15 senatorial positions to be vacant so their party’s bets can take the posts.

The statement of the former President did not sit well with many people. Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa who is an ally of Duterte and one of the senators endorsed by the PDP-Laban reacted to the remarks of the former Chief Executive.

Based on a report on GMA News Balitambayan, Sen. Bato dela Rosa considers the remark only a “joke” of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to the senator reelectionist, it is allegedly clear that the former Chief Executive just wants to spark laughter.

“Hay! Hanggang ngayon… ‘di pa niyo kilala si Pangulong Duterte, ‘no? Hanggang ngayon, ganoon pa rin? Ganoong statement, bigyan niyo ng weight? Klaro naman ‘yun na biro,” Dela Rosa said.

According to Sen. Bato dela Rosa, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte should have not announced it if he really wants to do it. Dela Rosa was the chief of the Philippine National Police during the Duterte administration. Another ally of Duterte who is endorsed by his party is senator reelectionist Christopher “Bong” Go.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is running for Davao City mayor in the 2025 Elections. His running-mate is his son, Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte.
