Pinay OFW Opens Up About Struggles She Faces While Working Abroad
A Pinay OFW shared her frustration and thoughts on the struggles she faces while working abroad.
Recently, Lyzel Gamboa Lachica, a Facebook user, opened up about an experience where her employer ordered her to go to bed without having any food. Her post garnered various reactions from the online community.
In her post, Lyzel described how her employer ordered dinner for themselves, but after handing it over to them, she was told to go to bed since she had no more tasks in the kitchen. The frustration of seeing her employers eat while she had to sleep hungry left her feeling humiliated.
Lachica couldn’t help but express how unfair it felt that they were able to enjoy a meal before resting, while she was expected to go to bed without eating.
Luckily, Lyzel had some bread in her bag to ease her hunger. Before she went upstairs to her room, a young woman, presumably her employer’s daughter, handed her some leftover fries and drinks.
While she felt embarrassed by the situation, she was still grateful for the small kindness. Despite this, Lyzel shared how painful it was to experience such treatment, but she remained thankful for the blessings that still came her way.
