Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Hospitalized After Being Diagnosed with Pneumonia

Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Has Pneumonia

PASTOR APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), has been transferred to a private hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

On January 18, 2025, he was initially brought to the Rizal Medical Center after experiencing difficulty breathing. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed the situation, explaining that although Quiboloy was admitted to the public hospital, doctors quickly realized the facility was unable to provide the necessary level of care. As a result, it was recommended that he be moved to a private hospital for more specialized treatment.

BJMP spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera shared that after being examined at Rizal Medical Center, the controversial religious leader was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia. This diagnosis led to his transfer to a more equipped facility where he could receive better care. The BJMP also reassured the public that, while Pastor Apollo Quiboloy remains in the hospital, he is still under their strict supervision with enhanced security measures in place.

This recent health scare follows a previous medical issue in November 2024, when Quiboloy was hospitalized for an irregular heartbeat, a condition doctors warned could be life-threatening. Despite these serious health challenges, Quiboloy is still facing significant legal troubles. He is currently facing non-bailable charges of qualified human trafficking and violations under the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

To recall, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was arrested on September 8, 2024, after the Senate issued an arrest warrant for him on March 19, 2024. This came after he refused to cooperate with government inquiries into alleged human rights violations. The Department of the Interior and Local Government had also offered a ₱10,000,000 (US$170,770) bounty for information leading to his arrest. He is currently running for a Senate seat under the PDP-Laban party.
