Marilaque Stunt Rider Reaches Settlement with Family of Deceased Motovlogger

Marilaque Stunt Rider Apologizes for Fatal Stunt and Settles with Affected Families

RECS AKMAD – The camp of the motorcycle rider who went viral for a dangerous stunt at Marilaque Highway in Tanay, Rizal, has confirmed that they have reached a settlement with the family of motovlogger John Arguelles and other individuals affected by the incident.

Akmad had been facing multiple charges after his reckless “Superman” stunt resulted in the tragic death of his friend, Arguelles, and injuries to several bystanders. Following the accident, his fellow rider, Harold Aratan, announced on Facebook that they had formally resolved the matter with the victims’ families. He urged the public to be patient and understanding, stating that the settlement had been finalized at the Tanay police station.

In addition, Akmad issued a public apology, acknowledging his mistake and asking for an end to the harsh criticism against the late Arguelles. He expressed deep remorse, emphasizing that he had already apologized to the motovlogger’s family and that the situation was equally painful for him.

“Magandang Araw po sa inyong lahat Ako po ay lubos na humihingi ng paumanhin sa nangyare tao lang din po nagkakamali at lilinawin ko lang po na okay na po kami dun sa pamilya ni MOTOPUSH humingi na rin Po Ako ng tawad sa pamilya nya masakit din po para sa akin ang nangyare pakiusap lang din po tigil nyo na rin po ang panghuhusa kay MOTOPUSH bilang respeto na rin po sa pamilya nya,” he said.

As part of the agreement, Akmad committed to covering all funeral expenses for Arguelles, as well as the medical bills of the other individuals involved. However, despite the settlement, he remains legally accountable for his actions. While the agreement releases him from civil liability, it does not absolve him of any criminal charges.

Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) confirmed on Tuesday that Akmad would still face legal consequences for his role in the incident.
