Lady Netizen Frustrated Over Unpaid Debts
A lady netizen expressed her frustrations over those who didn’t pay their debts to her and even stopped communicating with her afterward.
Recently, Cristine Jay Cañete Peje, a Facebook user, shared her feelings about people borrowing money and then disappearing without paying her back. The post elicited comments from the online community.
In her post, Peje talked about the frustration of helping others financially while they conveniently forget their obligations.
Cristine explained how she lent P1,500, even though her budget was tight. She’s been living off simple meals, like ham and whatever’s left in her fridge. She even skipped treating herself to personal care like nail cleaning, just to prioritize her finances.
Meanwhile, it felt like the people she helped were out enjoying the holidays without a care in the world, likely with no plans of repaying her anytime soon. Her frustration hit hard when she saw borrowers celebrating expensively over the holidays while she chose to keep things simple.
For Cristine, it’s not just about the money; it’s about respect. Lending cash comes with sacrifices, and not paying back is a major letdown for those who are trying to help.
The lady netizen said she’s done lending to anyone who doesn’t show gratitude or can’t be bothered to pay her back, whether they’re family, relatives, or friends starting 2025. Moving forward, she’s focusing on her own financial and mental health.

New Year ha sasama talaga loob nila niyan. Or di kaya inubos lahat nitong holiday at new year tapos sa susunod na mga araw lalapit dun sa mga nagtitipid at di naghanda ng bongga para may pambudget sila buong January tapos hihiraman sila ?
Kapatid ko nga winarningan ko na din baka ubos2x biyaya nitong holiday at new year tapos sa akin lalapit next year. Nagsabi na ako sa lahat ngayon , na wala sila aasahan sa akin next year ,may sarili din akong mental and financial load na haharapin sa 2025. Kanya kanya muna tayong lahat. Nireplenish ko na mga credit limit and cc namin with all the money we received and earned this ber months. At promise di ko na ipapagamit!
Lastly , no more helping entitled and ungrateful people on 2025. Even if they are family, relatives or even friends. Di na ako makikialam sa pagsubok na ibibigay sa kanila.”
