Families gather for a reunion feast on New Year’s Eve, and elders give red envelopes with money to bring luck and prosperity. Homes are cleaned to remove bad luck, while streets are decorated with red lanterns and banners. Fireworks, lion dances, and traditional foods like dumplings and rice cakes are central to the celebrations.
The festival lasts fifteen days, ending with the Lantern Festival, where people light lanterns under the full moon. In 2024, it falls on February 10, welcoming the Year of the Dragon, a symbol of strength and success.
