Ice Seguerra Urges People to Stop Comparing Him with Jake Zyrus
ICE SEGUERRA – The singer-songwriter has expressed his desire for people to stop comparing him to Jake Zyrus, acknowledging that while they share a similar journey as trans individuals, their paths and experiences are distinct.
In a recent interview, Ice shared his thoughts on the matter, urging others to respect their personal journeys. He emphasized that just because they are both trans, it doesn’t mean their lives or struggles are the same. Ice believes that each person’s journey is unique and should be respected, highlighting that comparisons do not help anyone.
“Ako, I honestly wish that people would stop comparing us. Kasi, okay, we’re both trans, but, hindi porke pareho kaming trans, pareho kami ng journey. Iba-iba ang tao. Iba-iba ang journey natin. Iba-iba ang pinagdadaanan ng tao. Iba-iba ang pupuntahan nation. I have my own journeys. He has his own journey. So, I hope they respect his journey as well. Stop comparing us because hindi nakakatulong yun, e,” the singer-songwriter said.
As for his support for Jake, Ice shared that he would be there for him when Jake returns to the Philippines. He acknowledged that Jake has faced challenges in the past, with rumors of struggles with employment and alcohol. However, Ice remains hopeful that Jake has found happiness in his new relationship with girlfriend Cheesa Laureta, based on Jake’s recent social media posts. Ice also reflected on his own life, revealing that his wife, Liza Diño, played a significant role in helping him through his tough times. He described Liza as a source of love, support, and truth, someone who offers a perspective that others may not.
