Female Store Owner Shares Reason Why She Doesn’t Allow Credit From Her Small Business
A female store owner has shared her reason for not allowing credit purchases, explaining that the profit from her business is very small.
Recently, Lian Marave Caburnay, a Facebook user, posted a photo of her sari-sari store with a clear sign stating that credit is not allowed. The garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to Caburnay, it’s not that she doesn’t want to help, but past experiences have made her more cautious. Many people have borrowed from her store in the past, but some never paid back, and she chose not to chase after them.
Since she didn’t ask for payment, people assumed it was fine not to return what they owed.
Running a sari-sari store is not easy, she explained, as the profit from each item is usually only around P2 to P3. Even she and her family pay for the items they take from the store, ensuring they can see if they are truly making a profit.
Fortunately, over time, through hard work and blessings, the store has grown little by little. She clarified that she is not competing with other stores. Her goal is simply to help her husband provide for their family.
As long as she can make around P1,000 to P1,500 a day, she is satisfied because it allows her to restock for the next day. For small store owners like her, every peso counts. By not allowing credit, she ensures the store remains stable and continues to support her family.
