EMO ICONS – Secondhand Serenade, Boys Like Girls, and The Click Five unite for the Playback Punk, Rock, and Emo Music Festival on May 8, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Secondhand Serenade is the solo project of John Vesely, an American musician known for pop rock and emo music. He gained fame with his debut album Awake (2005) and the hit song “Fall for You” from A Twist in My Story (2008). Vesely continued releasing music, including Hear Me Now (2010) and Undefeated (2014).
Boys Like Girls is an American rock band formed in 2005, known for their pop-punk and pop-rock sound. Their debut album featured hits like “The Great Escape” and “Hero/Heroine.” Their second album, Love Drunk (2009), included “Two Is Better Than One” with Taylor Swift. After a hiatus, they returned in 2023 with Sunday at Foxwoods.
The Click Five was an American power-pop band from Boston, active from 2003 to 2013. Their debut album, Greetings from Imrie House (2005), was a success, especially in Asia. After Eric Dill’s departure in 2007, Kyle Patrick replaced him, and they released Modern Minds and Pastimes. Despite disbanding in 2013, they remained popular in Asia and won awards like the “Knockout Award” at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards.
The three bands are set to unite for the Playback Punk, Rock, and Emo Music Festival on May 8, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Fans can relive their emo and pop-punk memories with ticket options ranging from P4,500 to P10,000 (excluding ticketing fees).
