Prior to the filing of the impeachment raps, Pres. Bongbong Marcos admitted his stand on the impeachment plans against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to the President, it will not benefit even a single Filipino and will only tie up the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Marcos Jr. also admitted that he sent a private message to the House members. According to the President, he told them that the Vice President is “unimportant” in a bigger scheme. This statement is amid an ongoing feud between the President and the Vice President.

The Iglesia ni Cristo is also against an impeachment move versus Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The church group intended to prepare for a rally to show support to the stand of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. It stressed that it is for peace.

Maraming problema ang ating bansa na dapat unahin ng pamahalaan,” the INC said in its statement.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte broke her silence on the support of the Iglesia ni Cristo towards the stand of Pres. Bongbong Marcos over the impeachment complaints against her. Based on a report on GMA News, she expressed understanding on the support of the INC towards the Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President.

“Naiintindihan ko na gusto ng INC ng kapayapaan sa ating bansa dahil alam nila na kapag merong kapayapaan susunod din ‘yung kaunlaran ng ating bansa,” the Vice President said.

Aside from the impeachment complaints filed before the House, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is also faced with a subpoena. The National Bureau of Investigation or NBI has summoned the Vice President over her remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

However, the Vice President was not able to attend the November 29 investigation. Duterte also said she could not attend the December 11 investigation of the NBI.
