Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Members of the House of Representatives
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called on the members of the House of Representatives to respect the OVP if they want respect.
Vice Pres. Duterte and her office are currently in hot waters due to several issues and accusations against them. There are questions regarding the Confidential Funds spending of the OVP as well as the DepEd’s (Department of Education) during the term of Duterte as the education secretary. An investigation was conducted by the House panel.
It was only a few days ago when the House panel decided to end the investigation over the Confidential Funds spending of the OVP. The decision came amid the filing of impeachment complaints against Duterte. Currently, there are two (2) impeachment complaints filed against the Vice President.
A member of the House has also confirmed that a third impeachment complaint is set to be filed against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Previously, a member of the lower chamber claimed that the House has no choice but to process the impeachment complaints filed.
Recently, after the Commission on Audit or COA has reported that the Office of the President remains to be the biggest spender of the confidential and intelligence funds, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the House to also investigate the Confidential Funds of Marcos’ office.
Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President claimed that the confidential funds of the Department of Education (DepEd) for two (2) quarters have already been cleared by the COA but the House committee allegedly continues to question it.
According to the Vice President, the House members should respect the Office of the Vice President if they also want respect. Based on the report, she called for the members of the lower chamber to respect the OVP even if they don’t like her.
“Respect begets respect… If they don’t like me, they don’t like my version, they don’t like Sara Duterte, but they have to respect the Office of the Vice President,” Duterte said.
Recently, Vice Pres. Duterte has also spoken on the looming 3rd impeachment complaint which may be filed by a religious group.
