Pokwang Admits to Having a Grandson from Her Daughter Mae Subong

Pokwang Reveals She Has a Grandson Through Her Daughter Mae Subong

POKWANG – The Kapuso comedienne revealed during her Christmas Day guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that she has a four-year-old grandson named Gabriel. The child is from her eldest daughter, Mae Subong, who is now 28 years old.

Pokwang openly shared this, explaining that Mae is not a public figure, so she felt it was appropriate to disclose the information herself. Expressing her joy, she said, “I am a lola and it’s another blessing. I have a four-year-old, super-super cute. Another blessing ng buhay ko. Another reason na ipagdasal ko ang sarili ko na humaba pa ang buhay ko para makita ko ang paglaki. Super-super cute na bata. Super talino. I am a proud lola.”

Pokwang shared that she was not upset upon learning about Mae’s pregnancy before marriage. Instead, she was happy as long as Mae completed her education, which she successfully did. She expressed pride in Mae, describing her as a responsible and well-behaved child, and said she felt joy rather than anger upon hearing the news.

However, Pokwang revealed a challenging episode involving her ex-partner, Lee O’Brian, who wanted Mae to leave their home upon learning of her pregnancy. Pokwang firmly opposed this, stating, “‘Bakit mo papaalisin ang anak ko? Ngayon niya ako kailangan and it’s pandemic, saan pupunta yung bata?'”

Mae, who gave birth at 24, recently learned about her ex-stepfather’s intentions. She expressed her shock upon discovering the truth, explaining that Pokwang initially kept it from her to protect their relationship with Lee. Mae remarked, “So, that time, pinoprotektahan pa rin ni Mama yung ex niya para magkaroon kami ng maayos na relationship.”

In a brief interview, Mae shared that her son Gabriel is deeply loved and spoiled by his grandmother. Pokwang treasures her grandson, considering him a blessing born during the pandemic. Aside from Mae, Pokwang has another child, Malia, from her relationship with Lee O’Brian.
