Neri Naig’s Camp Issues Statement About Court’s Order for Her Immediate Release

Camp of Neri Naig Releases Statement Regarding Court Order for Her Swift Release

NERI NAIG – The actress’s camp has issued a statement regarding the Pasay City Regional Trial Court’s (RTC) decision to order her immediate release. The court rescinded the arrest warrant against Neri and instructed the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to free her.

Her lawyer, Atty. Aureli Sinsuat from FLO Attorneys-at-Law, confirmed that the court granted their motion to quash the charges. The court also directed the BJMP to release Neri while a reinvestigation of her case, involving Dermacare/Beyond Skin Care Solutions, is being conducted by the City Prosecutor’s Office.

Atty. Sinsuat expressed his appreciation for the court’s decision, which he said highlighted Neri’s right to due process. He believes that the reinvestigation will prove her innocence. Supporters of Neri also celebrated the decision as an important step toward justice.

At the moment, Neri’s legal team is focused on preparing for the reinvestigation, which is expected to clarify the issues surrounding her case. Atty. Sinsuat remarked, “This development marks an important step toward resolving the matter fairly and justly.” The public continues to watch the case closely, and Neri has been reunited with her family after her temporary detention.

Meanwhile, Neri Naig, wife of Parokya Ni Edgar’s frontman Chito Miranda, was arrested on November 23, 2024, facing 14 charges related to violations of the Securities Regulation Code (SRC) and syndicated estafa. These charges stem from her involvement in promoting an investment program for Dermacare, a beauty clinic, where investors were promised returns but encountered problems like bounced checks and unpaid financial commitments.

Although Neri severed her connection with Dermacare in September 2023, both as a franchisee and an endorser, she is still connected to the case filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in May 2024. Each SRC violation comes with a ₱126,000 bail, but the syndicated estafa charge, which is non-bailable, could lead to a life sentence if she is convicted.
