Luke Espiritu Reacts to Cynthia Villar’s Remarks on Land Distribution

Cynthia Villar’s Remarks on Land Distribution Earns Reaction from Luke Espiritu

LUKE ESPIRITU – The labor leader responded to Senator Cynthia Villar’s remarks about land distribution in Las Piñas.

Senator Cynthia Villar recently addressed the residents of Las Piñas during her campaign launch for a congressional seat, urging them to show their support in the upcoming 2025 elections. She reminded them of her family’s long-standing generosity and explained that their decision to distribute land in the area would depend on the community’s backing during the elections.

Villar emphasized that her family values not just words, but actions, and clarified that the residents’ support through voting would influence their decision on land distribution. She urged them to show their appreciation and trust, stressing that the relationship between her family and the community should be mutual.

Acknowledging her family’s deep ties to Las Piñas, Villar stated that their efforts, including land distribution, aim to uplift the community. However, she warned that her family might reconsider their decision if the residents fail to show their support.

Labor leader Luke Espiritu was among those who reacted to Cynthia Villar’s remarks. In a video statement, Espiritu criticized Villar, pointing out the contradiction in her family’s claim to be “land givers.” He noted that their time in government has seen the expansion of subdivisions, malls, and other developments tied to their businesses.

Espiritu also called attention to the Villar family’s role in displacing around 3,000 families in Sitio Malipay, Bacoor, Cavite, despite their supposed generosity with land. He condemned the political dynasty for its blatant disregard for justice and its ability to evade accountability. Espiritu called for an end to the dominance of political dynasties and urged the public to join him in fighting against corrupt politicians.

As of press time, Cynthia Villar has yet to respond to Luke Espiritu’s remarks.
