Cynthia Villar Ties Land Distribution to Election Outcome
CYNTHIA VILLAR – The outgoing senator stated that her family might reconsider distributing their lands to the people of Las Piñas if they do not receive support from the residents in the upcoming 2025 elections.
Villar recently addressed the residents of Las Piñas as she launched her campaign for a congressional seat. During her speech, she reminded the community of her family’s longstanding generosity and urged them to reflect on their support as the 2025 elections draw near.
In a video recorded at a local event, Senator Cynthia Villar discussed her family’s ongoing deliberation about donating land they own in Las Piñas. She explained that the decision would largely depend on the level of support her family receives from the residents. “Kaming apat na lang po ang magde-decide kung ibibigay sa inyo ang lupang ito,” she said, adding that the community’s actions during the elections would influence the outcome.
The senator emphasized that her family values appreciation and support, not just through words but through actions. “Sana tanawin niyo sa amin ‘to kung ibibigay namin sa inyo [ang lupang ito], malalaman namin sa eleksyon kung tatanawin niyong utang na loob ang pagbibigay namin ng lupa sa inyo,” she shared. Villar urged the residents to demonstrate their trust and backing, particularly through their votes.
She also acknowledged her family’s deep ties to Las Piñas, a city they have significantly influenced over the years. According to her, the family’s efforts—such as land distribution and other initiatives—are rooted in a desire to uplift the community. However, she stressed that this relationship is reciprocal, saying, “Sana ipakita niyo sa amin na kami ay susuportahan niyo sa darating 2025 election, ipakita niyo sa amin, ipakita niyo sa amin ang appreciation niyo kasi pag hindi niyo ipinakita sa amin, baka magbago ang isip namin ang pagbibigay sa inyo ng lupa.”
In closing, Senator Villar left the residents with a thought-provoking question: “Kung makita namin na hindi niyo pala kami mahal, dapat ba naming mahalin rin kayo?”
