Pres. Bongbong Marcos Reacts to Statement of VP Sara Duterte amid Souring Relationship
SARA DUTERTE – The “Point of No Return” statement of the Vice President on her ties with Pres. Bongbong Marcos earned a response from him.
Marcos Jr. and Duterte made a victorious tandem during the 2022 Elections. There are millions of BBM-Sara supporters that have stayed loyal but are now left confused amid the heated feud between the President and the Vice President.
The Filipino populace witnessed a souring relationship between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte when she resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education). The Vice President has been throwing tirades against the Chief Executive since then until now.
In fact, recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte accused the Marcoses of allegedly masterminding the death of the late former Senator Ninoy Aquino. The Aquinos and the Marcoses are strong political rivals but the former are now quiet in politics. Their patriarch, Ninoy, was shot upon his arrival at the then-Manila International Airport and the incident triggered the EDSA People Power Revolution that ousted Marcos Sr.
Vice Pres. Duterte also claimed that there are allegedly plots against her life. She claimed that the Marcoses want her removed from office. According to her, her “final wish” includes the death of Pres. Marcos and his wife in case one of the alleged plots against her come out successful.
Amid her tirades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her belief that she and the President have reached the “point of no return”. Recently, the Chief Executive was pressed on to give his side on the remarks of the Vice President regarding their ties.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos said “never say never” on the “point of no return” remark of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Amid their feud, Marcos also admitted that she is against the filing of an impeachment claim against Duterte.
The House of Representative member admitted that an impeachment plan is currently on the works against Duterte. According to ACT Teachers’ Party-List Representative France Castro, they are gathering signatories now and there are a lot that she is confident that it would be enough to pass the complaint in the lower chamber.
