Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Says Pres. Bongbong Marcos Allegedly Can’t Be Corrected
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President took swipe at Pres. Bongbong Marcos and challenged the military to protect the Constitution.
Beyond the expectation of countless Filipinos, the issue surrounding the souring relationship between Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte grows deeper. The latter has continuously thrown tirades against the President.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos of not knowing how to be a president. Duterte also recently claimed that the Marcoses are allegedly the mastermind behind the death of Ninoy Aquino. She also unleashed statements that seemingly triggered threats on the lives of Pres. Marcos, his wife, and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The National Bureau of Investigation or the NBI released a subpoena for Vice Pres. Duterte over her remarks against Pres. Marcos. However, for former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, he is confident that Vice Pres. Duterte can handle the issues.
According to the former President, charges can be filed against Vice Pres. Duterte but she allegedly cannot be sentenced to imprisonment. The former President also aired tirades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
Based on a report on GMA News, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte claimed that there is allegedly a “fractured governance” in the Philippines right now. According to him, “nobody can correct Marcos, nobody can correct Romualdez”. The former President also issued a challenge to the military.
“I challenge the whole military kasi they’re supposed to be the protector of the Constitution,” the former President said.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also reiterated his previous claim linking Pres. Bongbong Marcos to drug use. Based on the report, he asked the military if they will continue to serve that kind of president. According to him, the transfer of PhilHealth funds is a more important issue than the remarks of Vice Pres. Duterte against the Marcoses.
