Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte Challenges Opponent in 2025 Elections To Undergo Drug Test
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao City 1st District Representative tested negative for drugs amid the accusations against him.
The Dutertes are among the most popular political figures in the Philippine political arena. Most of the members of the family are holding public positions. In fact, their patriarch, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is running for the mayoralty race in Davao in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte will run for Davao City mayor with his youngest son, Baste Duterte who is currently the city mayor, will be his running-mate in the upcoming bid. Their decision came amid rumors and speculations that they will run for senator next year after it was previously reported that three (3) Dutertes will file their candidacy for the senatorial race.
Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte, the eldest son of the former President, is also seeking re-election in the 2025 Elections. His reelection is challenged by the election bid of PBA Part List Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles.
In October, Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte challenged PBA Part List Rep. Margarita “Migs” Nograles to a drug testing. Recently, Duterte’s office unveiled that he took his challenge and the result is now out.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the office of Duterte said that the Davao City 1st District Representative tested negative in the seven-panel hair follicle test by Omega Laboratories conducted on October 23. The Hi-Precision Diagnostics Center certified the result.
According to Duterte’s office, the seven-panel hair follicle test “is known for its high accuracy and is often used in legal, corporate, and personal cases where reliable results are required”. His office stressed that the result boosts the claim of the former presidential son that he is not into drugs contrary to what the rumors and speculations say.
In August, Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo Duterte has filed a bill seeking an order for a random drug testing among all the elected and appointed officials of the government including the president. The bill came amid his father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s, accusations linking Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. to drugs.
His sister, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, has previously agreed to undergo a “Neuropsychiatric Exam” and even ready to have it televised but she also wants the aspirants of the House to undergo a drug test.
