PAOCC Official Suspended After Alleged Assault on BPO Janitor

PAOCC Official Relieved of Duties Following Alleged Attack on BPO Janitor

WINSTON CASIO – A Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) official has been suspended following the emergence of a viral video that allegedly shows him slapping a janitor during a raid on a BPO on October 31. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding the treatment of individuals involved in such operations.

In the controversial video, Casio can be seen standing before the janitor, after which the alleged assault occurs. The footage quickly spread on social media, prompting the PAOCC to take immediate action.

In response to the allegations, PAOCC Executive Director USec Gilberto DC Cruz issued a memorandum addressing the incident. It specified that Casio’s involvement in the mistreatment of a Filipino national would be investigated. The memorandum described the event, stating, “This memorandum addresses your alleged involvement in the incident involving the mistreatment of a Filipino national on October 31, 2024, at CENTRAL ONE in Bagac, Bataan. This incident occurred following the execution of a Search Warrant at that location and is reported to have been documented, with the footage now circulating on social media platforms.”

Casio was ordered to provide a written explanation within twenty-four hours of receiving the memorandum. Additionally, he was relieved of his duties as PAOCC spokesperson until the investigation concluded. The memorandum emphasized the need for a fair and thorough investigation, directing him to submit an explanation within the stipulated time frame.

In a recent interview with ABS-CBN News on November 5, Casio acknowledged his wrongdoing and expressed his readiness to face the repercussions. “Admittedly, I was wrong in my actions, but as I mentioned in the explanation letter I submitted yesterday, I’m willing to face the music because I was indeed wrong,” he stated.

This incident has raised questions about the conduct of officials during operations and the treatment of individuals involved, prompting a deeper examination of the agency’s practices and protocols. The PAOCC’s investigation is expected to shed light on the matter and determine appropriate disciplinary actions.
