VP Sara Duterte Faced w/ Subpoena Issued by NBI over her Remarks on Marcoses
NBI – The National Bureau of Investigation reacted to the request of Vice President Sara Duterte for the rescheduling of the summons to her.
Countless BBM-Sara supporters are left confused over the recent happenings in the ties of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The latter has not stopped from throwing tirades against the country’s chief executive.
Vice Pres. Duterte even recently accused the Marcos family on the death of Ninoy Aquino. According to the Vice President, the Marcoses allegedly masterminded the slay of the former Senator. He was shot upon his arrival at the then-Manila International Airport.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also threw remarks that seemingly ignited threats on the lives of Pres. Bongbong Marcos; his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos; and his cousin, House Speaker Martin Romualdez. It gained the attention of the Department or Justice or DOJ as well as the National Bureau of Investigation or NBI.
The National Bureau of Investigation issued a subpoena for Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over her remarks against Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The NBI requested Duterte to appear at the investigation bureau’s headquarters on Friday to explain her statement against the Marcoses and Romualdez.
However, based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte may not be able to appear at the NBI headquarters on Friday. She is set to appear at the House of Representatives’ hearing wherein her staff members in the Office of the Vice President (OVP) would be attending the inquiry.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has already requested the National Bureau of Investigation for the summons to her to be rescheduled. Based on the report, she will prioritize the House hearing where her aides in the OVP will be questioned about the use of the Confidential Funds of their office.
Despite her statement, Duterte has yet to formally send a copy of her request to the NBI as per investigation bureau director Jaime Santiago. Meanwhile, he stressed that there is no problem with regards to the rescheduling of the summons. He also assured that the NBI will be impartial in the investigation of the issue.
“Wala naman hong problema, pupuwede naman ma-resched,” Santiago said.
Speaking to TeleRadyo Serbisyo, the director of the investigation bureau stressed that there’s a “threat” thus, they cannot stay mum on the issue. He expressed that they need to clarify the matter.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the government is allegedly using the Arnie Teves “playbook” on her. According to her, the government is really finding ways so they can file a case from her remarks.
