Liam Payne’s Old Tweet Resurfaces Amid His Passing
LIAM PAYNE – A tweet from the late singer, posted in 2010, has recently resurfaced online.
Liam Payne, a former member of the British boy band One Direction, tragically died on October 16, 2024, at the age of 31. Payne had traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina, with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, to renew his U.S. visa and attend a concert. After staying in a luxury Airbnb, they moved to a hotel when his visa application was delayed. On the day of his death, Payne was reportedly sober and had spoken to fans about his time in the city.
Payne fell from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur hotel in the Palermo neighborhood. Authorities responded to an emergency call from the hotel manager, who reported Payne acting aggressively, possibly due to the effects of drugs and alcohol. When emergency services arrived, Payne fell shortly after. He suffered severe injuries from the fall, including a cranial fracture, which led to his death upon arrival at the hospital.
While there was speculation about whether the fall was accidental or intentional, forensic experts suggested Payne might have fallen unconscious before the fall. CCTV footage indicated that Payne fainted, which could have led to his fatal accident. His death was confirmed to be due to “very serious injuries incompatible with life.” Payne’s body was repatriated to the UK on November 6, 2024, and his funeral was held on November 20 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.
Meanwhile, a tweet from the late singer, posted in 2010, has recently resurfaced online. The tweet contained a mysterious question from the former One Direction member: “If I died would you come to ma funeral…?”
The old tweet was flooded with comments from his fans and followers who noted that his brothers (One Direction members) showed up at his funeral.
