Ken Chan’s Former Business Partner Reacts to His Statement About his Syndicated Estafa Case

Former Business Partner of Ken Chan Reacts to His Official Statement

MARK WEI – The former business partner of actor Ken Chan reacted to the latter’s statement regarding his syndicated estafa case.

Ken recently addressed the charges of syndicated estafa against him, a week after authorities failed to serve him with an arrest warrant. In an Instagram post, he clarified that his business, Café Claus, had three branches, but they eventually failed and closed. He denied accusations of deceiving people, stating that while the business did not succeed, it was not due to fraudulent intent. Ken explained that some business partners contributed to the downfall of the company and have been working to tarnish his reputation.

The charges stem from an alleged investment scam, in which Ken allegedly convinced a client to invest in a restaurant venture, promising a 10% monthly return. The complainant claimed to have been scammed out of P14 million. However, Ken denied these allegations, explaining that he did not solicit money or deceive anyone.

Ken stressed that he is not evading the charges and is addressing the issue through legal means. He reiterated his commitment to fighting the case, stating that he would not let the accusations ruin his career, which he has worked hard for over the years. He thanked his supporters and requested prayers during this challenging time.

After releasing his statement, Ken Chan’s business partner, Mark Wei, responded by disputing the actor’s version of events. Through a series of Instagram Stories, Mark accused Ken of distorting the facts and claimed the actor was reversing the story.

Mark also remarked, “Hindi malulugi kung sa negosyo napunta ang pera at hindi sa bulsa, lol.” He further questioned why Ken was avoiding the court, especially after a warrant of arrest had been issued and the court had found probable cause.

Emphasizing that their complaints are backed by evidence, Mark pointed out that Ken’s statement revealed his lack of understanding of the legal issues at hand. “Harapin mo na lang kami po kung inosente ka talaga. Let’s put it in a proper forum sa court,” Mark urged. He also posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying that more legal actions are forthcoming.
